Since 1989, Pine Butte Builders, Inc. has been building quality custom and speculative homes in the neighborhood surrounding The Resort At The Mountain. Joel Mumford established the company following ten years with a real estate investment company, Property Company of America. He construction career began in working with his father, who was a residential builder in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas, he started as an assistant superintendent and eventually became the Director of Construction for PCA’s Orlando, Florida operations.
When The Resort At The Mountain changed ownership in 1989, the new owners asked Joel to come to Oregon and head up the planned renovations and so Pine Butte Builders, Inc. was established. His first projects involved the multi-million dollar renovations of the meeting rooms, public areas, restaurants, and all 160 lodge rooms. In 1991, in partnership with the Resort, the company began developing and building custom homes on the lots surrounding the Foxglove Course. Since that time he has constructed 60+ single residence homes and two Golf Villa developments, including the new six-unit, Village at The Mountain Golf Townhomes. In addition to the construction of homes, between 1989 and 2007, Joel has completed extensive remodel projects at the Resort.
Pine Butte Builders is a small company, owned and operated by the husband/wife team of Joel and Cindy Mumford. Joel is the builder and developer, while Cindy runs the office and participates in the plan selection and decorating of our homes. Our business philosophy is not to concentrate on producing large numbers of homes each year, but instead to concentrate on building a smaller number of high quality homes. This enables us to give each of our clients the time and attention they deserve.
